Maa Ki Rasoi: Serving Love, Dignity, and Nourishment to Those in Need

At the Philharmonic Trust, a not-for-profit organization based in Pitampura, New Delhi, we believe in transforming lives through compassion, empowerment, and action. Founded by a passionate philanthropist and retired Chief General Manager from Delhi Transport Corporation, our organization focuses on primary education, health, women’s empowerment, environmental sustainability, and fighting social injustice. One of our most cherished initiatives, Maa Ki Rasoi, embodies our commitment to ensuring no one in our community goes hungry.

The Heart of Maa Ki Rasoi

Launched on February 1, 2020, with the inspiration and support of Mrs. Menka Soni, chairperson of Ampowering, USA, Maa Ki Rasoi began as a humble effort to provide nutritious meals to those in need. From our base at G-3, Rashmi Apartments, Harsh Vihar, Pitampura, New Delhi, we serve over 100 wholesome lunches every Sunday to needy individuals for just ₹5 per plate. This nominal charge preserves dignity, reduces wastage, and allows recipients to accept meals with grace. For those who cannot afford even ₹5, we provide free food, ensuring no one is left behind.
Every Saturday, we distribute bananas at no cost, extending our reach to more people. With the unwavering support of friends, relatives, and volunteers, Maa Ki Rasoi has been nourishing lives for over three years, becoming a lifeline for the underprivileged in Delhi.

Standing Strong in Times of Crisis

Maa Ki Rasoi has proven its dedication during the most challenging times. When the COVID-19 pandemic struck, our volunteers delivered meals daily to affected patients at their homes for three months, providing not just food but hope and care. In July 2023, when floods devastated Delhi, we served meals twice daily for five days to families displaced to tents and school premises. These efforts reflect our commitment to standing by our community when they need us most.

A Vision to Feed Every Day

Now, we dream bigger. The Philharmonic Trust aims to scale Maa Ki Rasoi to provide affordable, nutritious meals every day to those who need them most. Our vision is to establish a dedicated Maa Ki Rasoi restaurant—a warm, welcoming space where anyone can enjoy a hearty meal for just ₹5, prepared with love and served with dignity.
